Baby Boys

I feel that I have neglected boy's clothing in my first few posts... it is so easy to get caught up in all of the frills that come along with dressing little girls... but let us not forget that little boys are a gift from heaven and their clothes are ADORABLE and stylish as well!
I found some of the cutest clothes on this website; http://www.littleboychic.com/. I put some of my favorites from the site below.
This is for your little hippy... I thought it was kind of fun!

Basic big stripes are always a classically cute look.

Little boys LOVE scary pirates and I think this T-shirt looks vintage and cool.

For your little tourist! :-)

Love these bamboo printed lounge pants

I have a thing for baby goats... so I fell in love with this goat themed outfit.
Check on "Meeeh" on the leg. Too cute!

I like the simplicity of this T-shirt with a picture of a firefly in a jar!
It just screams childhood fun.

Now this is stylish! Aviator sunglasses and all :-)

I love that this site is dedicated to Little Boys only! It's one of my new favorites! Plus, most of the items on the site are VERY reasonably priced. Unique and priced right? What a concept.
I LOVE THAT!

Happy Memorial Day!

This post is all about children's swimwear! CHeck out the photos below and my comments at the bottom. Enjoy!!
First things first... you know how I love http://www.etsy.com/ and all of its homemade goodness! The first 5 photos were found on etsy from creative and crafty folks!
I love this adorable waterproof diaper cover for baby boys. There are designs on this makers site that would be great for little girls too.
Made by: "OliveJane's"
I think this little surfer girls outfit is too cute.
Made by: "SewNecessary"

This dress is listed as a 'Dress or Swim Suite'. Either way it's way cute.
Made by: "LaceyDesigns"
Also made by: "LaceyDesigns"
This is a retro dot suit with adorable ruffles!
Made by: "BostwickCreations"
The next three swimsuits are made by Baby Lulu and can be found on http://www.babylulu.com/.
This is a GREAT website with adorable things for girls! There are some little boy outfits, just not all that many.

http://www.achildscloset.com/ has some WONDERFUL swimwear as well!
I love these next two suits. The tutu is to die for and the pink bubble suit is so so so cute as well!

Look at the cute little cherries on this Kate Mack suit!
Google Kate Mack to find more of this line.
Happy Memorial Day!!! Although most of my Memorial Day weekend was spent watching the rain... it did get me thinking about swim suit season! I am personally NOT excited about donning a bathing suit, but kiddos always look adorable this time of the year! Let's face it, childhood is the only time that chubby legs and a pot belly is not only acceptable but REALLY cute!

My personal take on children's bathing suits is as follows... I don't love little girls in skimpy bikinis. Call me old fashioned but I think a sweet one piece with a hat or a tankini is not only appropriate but adorable! But hey, that's just me :-)

Have a great day!

About the title of my blog "The Posh Peanut"

In case you're wondering why I chose the name "The Posh Peanut"...

Posh Defined: Classy: elegant and fashionable; "classy clothes"; "a classy dame"

Peanut: Well, you know what a peanut is... but I chose this as a part of the name because I ALWAYS call babies 'little peanuts' before they are born and/or before the sex is known. If you'll notice, an early ultrasound looks like a picture of a little peanut.

SO... The Posh Peanut is the perfect name for a fashionable child don't you think?! It makes sense in my world. :-)

Trends I like right now_AND_look what I made!

An ADORABLE trend at the moment are colorful leggings and leg warmers for kids! I think this is TOO CUTE for words...
Is this not to die for?! Love it!

Another one of my favorite new trends is the TUTU for little girls! I think this is an adorable look... so SWEET and classic. For YEARS girls have felt like little princess ballerinas in a tutu.

Isn't this a great picture? I found it on Etsy.com under the seller "BloomingBits"

http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=7085456 Check them out... I really like :-)

I made these cute little headbands for my niece, Finnley. I attached the flowers and feathers to clips so that they can be easily removed and interchanged between bands. :-) She'll look adorable in them.

CiteFuzz on Etsy.com ($28)

Sparkleberry Crafts on Etsy.com ($20)
Ok, I HAD to show you something that I am currently obsessed with... it is these crocheted beanies/hats for babies! I think EVERY baby should have to wear them! It's officially my new law... I found these adorable little homemade creations on Etsy.com. Have you ever visited that site? YOU MUST! It's great. The top photo is from the maker "CiteFuzz" and the second photo is from "Sparkleberry Crafts"... I recently ordered the second one for my soon-to-be-here niece! I just got it in the mail... it is even more adorable in person. Although it looks a little small, maybe I'm just over-estimating the normal size of a newborn's head. My husband (of 3 years) and I don't have any children YET so I'm not real sure about the whole newborn thing. :-)

You're probably wondering why I am in to baby/children's fashion so much since I don't have any kiddos of my own yet... well, basically I am just in to FASHION, period. But I have become SO enthralled with children's fashion in recent months. I think it is so cool that parents don't only have overalls with dinosaurs or tractors on them and pink dresses with bows to choose from anymore for their children. Not that the aforementioned items aren't adorable in their own right... but it's SO nice to have fun fashionable options!

This has probably all come about in recent years due to the ever growing popularity of celebrity moms and the fact that people are obsessed with celebrity children... their names, their hair, and their FASHION! It's a little odd, but true.

The Posh Peanut

Hello!

This is my very first blog post EVER! If I ramble... I apologize!
I am creating this blog as my first attempt at possibly someday opening a children's clothing boutique. I would love to open a store... but I thought it might help to get some feedback from others! Here's the deal, for a long time I have been VERY interested in opening a clothing store but recently I have switched gears and become so fascinated with the amazing clothing for children that exists out there!
My Goal?

Um, my main goal would be to have a super trendy children's boutique for extremely stylish kiddos... but here's the part you're NOT expecting... I want it to be inexpensive! What a concept huh? As much as I LOVE fashion (and I do love it)... I can not justify babies and children wearing outrageously priced clothing when, lets face it, you can find stuff that is PRETTY DARN CUTE at Target half the time and they grow out of it in 2.5 seconds anyway! But, I want to do something even better... clothing and items SO unique that you can't pick them up at Target...

I would want my store to offer the kind of special treatment that customers walk out feeling that they've had a REAL boutique experience, they've been pampered, and mostly feeling like they've just STOLEN the merchandise because it was so reasonably priced... what do you think?

Do you love the idea or what?! If you know of any clothing lines that you think would fit in to this concept be sure to let me know! I need all of the help and advise I can get.

I am also posting some really ADORABLE lines I've run across online. I LOVE the vintage and eclectic look for kids. Also, classic/old-fashioned and sweet clothing are my fave! I'll probably post cute and fun pictures I find online and out there in the big world from time to time! I hope you enjoy! :-)
