STELLA MCLAIN PRYOR'S NURSERY

These are photos of Stella's nursery!! Our little bundle is due tomorrow... that's right TOMORROW! So, here I am at home wwaaiittiinngg and posting on my blog after FAR TOO LONG of neglecting it!

Above is a dresser that I painted, distresses, glazed, and put new (adorable) glass knobs on. As you can see, it is going to serve as Stella's changing table.

I snagged this vintage door at a local flea market. The chair belonged to my grandfather's mother! It is one of my most prized processions! I'll talk more about the crib below

As you can see, I love all things vintage and I went that direction with the nursery. This lamp was given to me by my husband's grandmother. It's over 80 years old! I actually have a set of 2.
Initially I was going to go ALL classic "Shabby Chic" (you know, white washed furniture, tiny floral prints, etc)... but as I searched for fabrics I ended up going much more vintage than actual S.C. I'm happy with the result.

All of the furniture in the room was painted and distressed (like I mentioned before)... even the crib. As you can see it's all pale green and the walls are a very very pale peach color.

The bedding, chair cushions, and drapes were all custom made by my sister-in-law's mother, Emmilea Riggs of Kennett, MO... SHE'S AMAZING!!

The patterns I used are a very eclectic mix. There's a floral print, a muted cheetah print, a striped linen, and a peach spotted fabric. I was nervous about the mix but I do LOVE how it came out. The feeling is very calming and not too loud. I hope it's a calm and soothing place for Stella. I know I love going in to the room!
